Dear St John’s Family,
After seeing the movie 1917 in January, I’ve had plans to sing Wayfaring Stranger during Lent. Sunday, March 15th was the day it was programmed, and the more I think about it, the more Providential was that choice. Back in January, I had no way of knowing about either the Corona Virus or the canceling of church, both very disconcerting developments. The message of this song is that in Christ, there is hope beyond the troubles of this world, and that our Savior took on our worldly troubles to make heaven possible. I pray that this song will be an encouragement to you and give you hope as together we look to Jesus during these troubling times.
