Clean out your closets, help save space in landfills, and assist neighbors in our community by donating your gently used treasures (household items, clothing, toys, books, small appliances, furniture, jewelry, and more) for St. John’s first-ever Yard Give. Organized by the Stewardship Committee, the event will be held Saturday, May 27, 7 a.m. until noon in our courtyard and parking lot.
Items will be available for the taking, although donations will be graciously accepted. Everything remaining will be donated to local charities. Drop off Yard Give items any Sunday prior to May 27 in the Parish Hall, or Friday evening, May 26, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the choir room (entrance from Mulberry St. parking lot).
On the day of the Give, items will be grouped by category, and signs will suggest donation amounts, but no one is required to pay for the items they take. (Note: We’re planning to give our refugee family early access, so they can take anything they can use.)
Any monetary donations will go into our operating budget, reducing what we need to withdraw from our endowment.
Many thanks to Nicole Pham for suggesting and heading up this event, and for sharing her vast experience with similar events!
