St. John’s will observe All Souls’ Sunday on October 27 with two special opportunities for remembrance and reflection:
Names of the Dead will be read during the Prayers of the People at both the 8:00 and 10:15 a.m.services. If you wish to add names to the list, a basket will be available in church this Sunday, Oct. 20, or you can email your names to the parish office at info@stjohns-lancaster.org. Deadline for submitting names is Oct. 23.
Evensong for All Souls will take place at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary, followed by a reception in the parish hall. We are pleased to welcome guest recitalist Mark Shockey, pianist. Mark is music director and organist at Hope Lutheran Church, Levittown, PA. He is a graduate of Cairn University, where he received a B. Mus. in piano performance and a B.S. in Bible. A free will offering will support a special fund to offset costs for those in need of assistance.
