Greetings St. John’s,
I want to apologize for the mix-up of dates regarding the pastoral note sent yesterday about Cynthia. Cynthia died on September 19, however her Celebration of Life and Ministry will take place on October 24, 2022 (her birthday). I pray you can join us to give thanks.
In addition, there are two events happening this weekend that I would like to share:
- On Saturday, September 24 from 9:00 AM – noon, we will gather with leaders from our local police department, the National Alliance for Mental Illness, and members of the community for a special workshop: “A Faithful Response to the Mental Health Crisis.” We pray you will join us for this necessary and important conversation. Everyone is welcome. We will gather in the parish hall.
- On Sunday, September 25 at 11:30 AM, any adults interested in participating in the Episcopal 101 class (those looking to be confirmed or received in the Episcopal Church or those interested in learning more about what we believe) are encouraged to join me in Becker House for a brief meeting to discuss the schedule for the class. We will be using the book, “Walk in Love: Episcopal Beliefs and Practices” by Scott Gunn and Melody Shobe. You can purchase a copy of the book from amazon or forwardmovement.org
