Weeds are growing heartily and it’s time for a second planting of corn and beans. Doug Brown is in need of help to care for St. John’s church garden, located at his home 10 miles south of Lancaster, just outside of New Providence. Regular gardening sessions take place Tuesday evenings beginning at 6 p.m., and Saturday mornings from 8 a.m.-noon. If you are able to help at another time, please contact Doug at 288-2289.
Produce from the garden will supplement St. John’s food pantry, be distributed at Community Breakfast, used at St. John’s functions, and donated to the Lancaster County Council of Churches.
