This Lenten season St. John’s is offering a unique experience of fellowship, learning and prayer, March 10, 11 and 12.
Based on the concept of an “at home” weekend retreat, instead of traveling to a destination, we are bringing the Lenten retreat to St. John’s. Mother Barbara Seras has called upon her background as a Sister to invite two of her colleagues to be spiritual resources for our weekend: Sister Jacqueline of the Community of the Transfiguration in Cincinnati, OH, and Kimberley Fonner, an Oblate of the community.
Our Transfiguration Weekend is designed to deepen the spirituality of all ages, all members and all friends. Friday night will be especially “family friendly” with prayer practices for children and adults. A soup and salad dinner will be provided starting at 6 p.m. You are invited to bring salad toppings, dessert, and friends.
Saturday begins in the Parish Hall with Centering Prayer, followed by lunch and a special time to tell our favorite St. John’s stories.
On Sunday, Sister Jacqueline will preach.
Sign up in the Parish Hall to come to one or more of the programs, or see Pam Loose, Sue Purdy, Linda Bruce, Barbara Landis or Mother Barbara. Click here for more information.
