Christmas Greetings St. John’s,
The celebration of Christmas continues as we end this year with full hearts for the friendships we have made and deepened, the service we have been invited into, and worship that ignites our hearts to proclaim the good news.
I have found this year to be unlike any other, yet it is filled with such grace and hope. We are a resurrection parish. A church grounded in love for Christ and one another. I see this played out over and over again in the lives of each of you. The Rev. Bill Archer is one member of our family who exhibited the good news through his own life and ministry. Yesterday, December 27, Bill died unexpectedly with his beloved wife, Carolyn, by his side.
Bill was an inspiring mentor, friend, and priest to so many of us. He was a kind hearted, humble, and faithful servant of God who will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to meet him. Please keep Carolyn and their family in your prayers as they navigate this difficult time. A private celebration of his life and ministry will take place later this week.
May Bill rest in the loving arms of God and may he hear the profound words we all desire, “well done good and faithful servant.”
I remain faithfully yours,
Amanda+
