Hello, St. John’s!
I am writing to you all today to let you know that I recently accepted a position as a Hospice Chaplain with Caring Hospice Services right here in Lancaster. It is with profound sadness that I have to leave you as your Assistant Rector, yet I know you will continue to extend your love and prayers for me as I enter into this call to be with folks in our community during their most difficult and precious times. Please know that all of you, in all of your various ways, have raised me up to be the priest I am today. Through your love, I am able to go and serve our neighbors in this specific way. As a reminder, my last Sunday with you is February 2.
Better for knowing you,
Jen+

January 22, 2025 at 6:52 pmI will certainly miss you Jen! I was just thinking the other day about what I think was the first sermon you gave at St. John’s about sitting in your snow covered car with nothing to clean off the snow and waiting for the snow to just melt off from the car running.
I am sure that you will do a great service to the Hospice patients and are a perfect fit for the position.
May God continue to bless you and keep you Jen+

January 23, 2025 at 10:29 amThanks be to God! Our loss is Hospice’s gain. I know from my perspective when John was in critical care that you and Amanda were there for me at every step. John thought highly of you, and somehow I believe he felt your presence even if he was under sedation. I hope to see you again, if not on February 2nd (I may be on my way to OhHiOh), but somewhere, sometime. May God continue to bless you and Heather in all you do.
