Good afternoon St. John’s,
This morning, I received word from the Homeless Coalition that additional warming centers are going to be needed on Saturday for our unsheltered neighbors. With the temperatures plummeting and another potential snow event, we’d like to open our campus from 2:00 -6:00 p.m. for folks to get out of the cold.
We’re looking for a few volunteers to be present and to help us welcome our neighbors by providing some coffee, hot chocolate, and a little love. Please let me know if you’re available and would like to help us provide a little warmth on a bitter cold day.

I have a few questions before I say “Yes.” Where can we store our valuables once we arrive? (cash, purse, car keys) How many people do you expect and how many helpers will be there?

January 11, 2025 at 10:20 amHi Eileen – sorry only saw the first part of your message. We have around 10 folks helping (5 of us from 2-4pm, 5 from 4-6pm). We can lock purses, keys, etc. in the food pantry room. We’ll be using the All Purpose Room so close to restrooms, hot coffee, desserts! We plan on putting out some puzzles and games and just hanging out with folks.
