Children’s event will celebrate MLK’s legacy

St. John’s will hold its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day event for community and church-school children ages 5 to 12 on Monday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church. The theme for the event is “The World I Want To Live In,” and the children will participate in interactive art, music, stories and sharing as well as a lunch-time meal and birthday-cake celebration.

Throughout the day children will explore who Dr. King’s helpers were and how we can continue to be his helpers today. It’s an exciting, high-energy day, and volunteers and children alike leave feeling that they’ve contributed to keeping Dr. King’s legacy alive.

For more information about volunteering or child participation, please contact St. John’s church office at 717-299-1188.
