Dear St. John’s family,
It is with sadness that I share with you the news of the death of Ed Bednar, husband of Lois Kelley. Ed departed this life peacefully early Sunday morning following a surgical procedure at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Ed and Lois have been bright lights in our lives at St. John’s since their coming to Lancaster in 2009 to be closer to Lois’ family.
On this coming Saturday, Jan. 16, we will remember and celebrate Ed’s life with a memorial service of Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m. in the Chapel and following the service there will be a reception in the Parish Hall. The family has also asked that in lieu of flowers, gifts in Ed’s memory may be made to the St. John’s Memorial and Thanksgiving Fund.
As we remember in our prayers God’s faithful servant, Ed, we also prayerfully hold Lois and the family in their time of loss.
