When you attend Sunday services at St. John’s, you don’t have to worry about finding a parking space or honing your parallel parking skills. While limited parking is available in St. John’s lot off of Mulberry Street, you can park at the Water Street Garage—just a block south of the church off of Chestnut Street—at no cost.
Thanks to an agreement with the Lancaster Parking Authority, if you enter the garage between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sundays mornings, you receive 3 hours of free parking. Just take a ticket when you enter and place it in the slot when you exit. No payment will be required. Simple and convenient.
While there were some initial growing pains late last summer as the process got underway, everything is now operating smoothly. Thank you, Andy Carroll from our Property Committee, for making this happen. And thank you Lancaster Parking Authority, for being a great neighbor.
Note: If you arrive prior to 7:30 or after 10:30 a.m., free parking will not apply. If you remain in the garage beyond 3 hours, you will need to pay for the additional time at the garage’s regular rates.
We encourage use of the Water Street Parking Garage in lieu of the private lot across from the church on Chestnut Street. This lot is reserved for residents of the Stevens School Apartments.
