Dear St. John’s family,
Poppy Youngquist, one of our dearest and most senior members, peacefully departed this life on June 12th at the age of 95. Poppy was a life-long resident of Lancaster and the daughter of John I. and Lonieta Hartman who were pivotal in the history of St. John’s following the fire in 1938. Poppy and her late husband, Dick, moved to Homestead Village in 1995. When Dick died in 2012 their son, Jeff, continued to provide daily attention and care for his mother.
We will celebrate Poppy’s life and ministry this Friday, July 1st at 11:00 AM at the Bachman Center, formerly the Parish Resource Center, on the campus of Homestead Village: 633 Community Way. A reception in the Bachman Center will follow the service. Memorial gifts may be directed to St. John’s, the Homestead Village Endowment Fund or Hospice and Community Care.
Please remember Poppy in your prayers with thanksgiving and hold in your heart her family in their time of loss. Rest eternal grant to her and may light perpetual shine upon her.
