Pregnant with the Light of Christ: A Lenten Spiritual Experience

All are invited to a special Lenten spiritual experience, “Pregnant with the Light of Christ,” March 29-31 in St. John’s Parish Hall. Through music, art and meditation, we will reflect upon the importance of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and her impact on us as Christians.

Friday, March 29: 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Enjoy a soup and salad dinner provided by our Lenten committee, followed by a presentation by St. John’s Minister of Music Paul Reese: “Mary in Music.” The evening will end with Compline and a labyrinth walk.

Saturday, March 30: 8:30-11:30 a.m.
The morning begins with local artist, art historian, and Lancaster Catholic High School arts educator Dick Ressel, who will present “Mary in Art.”

A panel discussion, “Theological Perspectives on Mary” will follow. The diverse panel includes Greek Orthodox seminarian Isaac Lampart; Roman Catholic Deacon Peter Jupin; Lutheran pastor The Rev. Carol Fryer; and St. John’s assistant priest, The Rev. Stephen Casey.

The Rev. Fryer will also preach at the 8 and 10:15 services on Sunday, March 31.

Mark your calendar and plan to join us for all or part of the weekend. Bring a friend! Sign up in the Parish Hall or call the church office at 717-299-1188. Questions? Please contact Pam Loose, Linda Bruce, or Barbara Landis.
