ALERT: Our Response to Hurricane Florence

Bishop Audrey has asked each convocation in the Diocese to undertake a collaborative project. The Lancaster Convocation has decided to respond to the ravages of Hurricane Florence, with the ALERT group facilitating this project. Each church in the Convocation is participating.

The greatest identified need at this point is money, with hands-on opportunities coming in the future. Our role, at this time, is to create a special collection to assist with the costs of recovery.

A contact has been established from an area hit most hard. The Brunswick County (NC) Assistance group is spearheading efforts in the area for the hurricane recovery operations. If you are interested in helping, please write a check to St. John’s (memo: Brunswick County Assistance), or place cash into an envelope marked for hurricane relief and place it in the offering plate during any remaining service in October. In addition, the plate offering at the October 28 Evensong will be directed to this effort. You could also include a note of encouragement, hope, and prayers with your donation.

Questions? See Dave Martin or Don Durand, our representatives to ALERT.
